Job Description As the (Senior) Associate, Commercialisation, you will be responsible for supporting commercialisation opportunities in the area of life sciences/health as part of the Life Science team that focusses on areas including biomedical technologies, diagnostics, vaccines, therapeutics and digital/mental health. You will work closely with colleagues in the Life science commercialisation team to assess potential new intellectual property and provide support in business development activities and the negotiation of commercialisation transactions such as licences, start-ups, research agreements to take the research to the market. You will play a key role in advancing commercial opportunities across the University, work with researchers on project proposals and, along with key Griffith staff, engaging with partners to help shape strategic partnerships. As a key member of the team, you will lead aspects of the commercialisation and IP management processes. More specifically, you will assess new technologies for commercialisation potential and support the subsequent commercialisation. About you To be successful in this role you will hold a postgraduate degree in an area related to life sciences. It would also be preferable that you would have some experience working in a research environment and demonstrated knowledge of intellectual property and its commercialisation. You will also have technical knowledge in a relevant area of Life Sciences and experience in business development, commercialisation or management of intellectual property will be well regarded. Demonstrated experience to assess early-stage technologies and understand intellectual property (IP) management and protection, including patents and other forms of IP are essential including demonstrated experience with negotiating contract and pitching technologies. You will need to be a self-starter and team player. You will be given the appropriate support and opportunity to make a significant contribution to Griffith Enterprise and the University. What we can offer This is a continuing, full-time position and will be primarily based at Griffith University Brisbane South (Nathan) or Gold Coast. As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations. Griffith University’s campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples. Salary Range The full-time base salary for the Senior Associate will be HEW Level 9 in the range $132,655 - $137,398 per annum, plus 17% superannuation. The total package will be in the range $155,206 - $160,756 per annum. The full-time base salary for the Associate will be HEW Level 8 in the range $113,713 - $127,923 per annum, plus 17% superannuation. The total package will be in the range $133,044 - $149,670 per annum. The successful candidate will be appointed at either Senior Associate or Associate level depending on experience, skills and qualifications. Additional Information Why Griffith?
