We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Associate to join our Property Litigation team based in our Glasgow office.

This role is perfect for an ambitious, commercially minded individual looking to play a key role in driving business development and contributing to the continued growth of the property litigation team and the firm.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE WILL INVOLVE

As a senior member of the team, you will

  • Advise clients on a broad range of property litigation matters, with a focus on delivering commercially sound and strategic solutions
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to our diverse portfolio of commercial, public sector, rural and private/estate clients. Take the lead in business development initiatives to expand our market presence
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments, including Commercial Real Estate and Rural Land & Business, Private Client and Residential
  • Represent clients in Court of Session, Sheriff Court, Land Court, Lands Tribunal for Scotland, and First Tier Tribunal (Housing and Property) Chamber cases

Your role will encompass a diverse range of property litigation work, including high-value, complex, and commercially significant cases. This includes:

  • Commercial Landlord and Tenant matters:-
  • Recovery of Rent, Service Charges and Irritancy
  • Notices to quit and break notices
  • Dilapidations and other end of lease claims
  • Interpretation of Leases (and other landlord/tenant disputes)
  • Applications to the Lands Tribunal for Scotland
  • Contentious matters under the Electronic Communications Code
  • Title Rectification
  • Applications to the Land Court
  • Boundary and Access disputes
  • Missive and Title disputes
  • Private and Social Housing disputes
  • Supporting our planning team in judicial reviews
  • Professional Negligence Claims (primarily arising from property transactions)
  • Removal of Unauthorised Occupiers
  • Use of Arbitration and Mediatio
