As an Engineer, you will have the opportunity to direct and contribute to the concept, development, and design of Electrical Wiring Harness while strengthening your electrical skills and mastery of engineering design concepts within Electrical Center of excellence team. You will partner with and provide technical guidance to local/global teams. You will contribute to the planning and delivery of projects, continually learn and stay abreast of innovative technology, mentor and coach team members, and broaden your professional network. This position performs complex electrical integration work, identifies design problems, and resolves problems. Although this position may be the transition from individual contributor to team leadership, the major focus of the job is on technical delivery. Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: • Design/Develop Electrical Wiring harness for various Caterpillar machines • Get involved and contribute in system level architecture, electrical system/subsystem • Get involved and contribute in new component development and sub processes. • Perform needs electrical analysis and initiate ideas • Evaluate new products, processes, or systems • Communicate results to customers, suppliers, team members, and other business units Perform product maintenance /Resolve electrical design related issues Required Qualification: Requires a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, plus 4-8 years experience in Automotive electrical or Heavy engineering electrical. Requires min of 2-4 years of experience in Pro/E -Creo cabling. Incumbent must be able to demonstrate the ability to gain a mastery of complex engineering and manufacturability concepts. Must have a good mechanical/electrical aptitude with ability to develop product concepts. Requires strong leadership ability and good communications skills. Desired Qualification Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Pro/E -Creo Experience Skill Descriptors Information Capture: Knowledge of the methods, channels and processes to obtain needed information; ability to identify, capture and document relevant business information in an auditable, organized, understandable and easily retrievable manner. Level Working Knowledge: • Follows defined procedures to document all routine information. • Identifies relevant established standards, policies and practices. • Fulfills routine information capture needs in own area. • Uses automated tools to capture, organize and archive relevant information. • Cites examples of different types of relevant information that need to be captured. Standard Operating Procedures: Knowledge of established standard operating procedures (SOP); ability to design, implement and evaluate standard operating procedures affecting daily and strategic business operations in order to increase operational efficiency. Level Working Knowledge: • Adjusts SOPs according to changes in organizational and industry procedures. • Tracks deviations from and modifications to existing SOPs in business operations. • Ensures compliance with industry standards, regulations and policies. • Assists in establishing a standard operating procedure based on workflow and environment review. • Reviews the efficiency of standard operating procedures in terms of performance improvement. Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems. Level Working Knowledge: • Approaches a situation or problem by defining the problem or issue and determining its significance. • Makes a systematic comparison of two or more alternative solutions. • Uses flow charts, Pareto charts, fish diagrams, etc. to disclose meaningful data patterns. • Identifies the major forces, events and people impacting and impacted by the situation at hand. • Uses logic and intuition to make inferences about the meaning of the data and arrive at conclusions. Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. Level Working Knowledge: • Delivers helpful feedback that focuses on behaviors without offending the recipient. • Listens to feedback without defensiveness and uses it for own communication effectiveness. • Makes oral presentations and writes reports needed for own work. • Avoids technical jargon when inappropriate. • Looks for and considers non-verbal cues from individuals and groups.
