In this crucial role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of cost estimations for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in complex data centre projects. Key Responsibilities · Develop and maintain detailed cost estimates for MEP systems in data centre projects · Collaborate with design, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure alignment on scope and pricing. · Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates. · Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and technical input. · Support bid submissions and presentations to clients. · Identify value engineering opportunities and risk factors. · Maintain and update cost databases and estimation tools · Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations · Mentor and guide junior team members in MEP cost management practices Qualifications · Proven experience in estimating MEP works, ideally within the data centre or mission-critical sector. · Minimum 7-10 years of experience in MEP cost estimation, with a focus on data centre projects · In-depth understanding of data centre design and construction principles · Advanced knowledge of MEP systems and data centre infrastructure · Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to MEP systems and data centres · Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities. · Desirable: membership of RICS / CIOB /A.
