SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Tertiary qualification in Geotechnical, Mining or Civil Engineering.
  • Significant experience in mine subsidence engineering, remediation / mine filling design, and geotechnical assessment.
  • Proven track record in subsidence modelling and interpretation, structural impact assessment, and monitoring techniques.
  • Excellent technical reporting and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Subsidence Advisory NSW practices
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or equivalent registration (desirable).

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this critical role, you’ll be responsible for assessing, monitoring, and mitigating ground movement impacts caused by underground mining operations. You will provide technical expertise to safeguard communities, infrastructure, and the environment while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct detailed mine subsidence risk assessments and develop predictive models.

  • Monitor, analyse, and report on ground movement and associated infrastructure impacts.

  • Provide technical advice on remediation, prevention, and mitigation measures.
  • Collaborate with developers, engineers, regulators, and community stakeholders.
  • Prepare expert technical reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to mine subsidence legislation, industry standards, and safety frameworks.
