Our ambition The Opportunity We are seeking a Senior Associate to join our market-leading Corporate Projects, Energy and Infrastructure (PEI) practice, based in Sydney. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with leading partner Cassandra Wee, a recognised expert in the electricity, gas, and carbon sectors. The role also includes working closely with other market-leading energy & corporate partners David Ryan, Peter Davis and Amit Jois. You’ll join an integrated energy practice and collaborate across a well-established network of lawyers – each who are brilliantly minded, technically excellent and fun to work with. What you'll do The Corporate PEI group has a strong sector focus in energy (including renewables, batteries, LNG, gas, power assets, hydrogen), decarbonisation and infrastructure (data centres, telecommunications, transport, public infrastructure). The team leads across corporate and M&A matters, foreign investment, joint development arrangements, strategic regulatory matters and complex commercial contracts, such as offtake agreements. You’ll work on premium projects and partner with the industry’s top clients - both in Australia and internationally - who are driving the energy transition and shaping private capital investment in infrastructure. Cassandra’s practice brings a depth of exciting Australian energy mandates as well as energy trading and investments out of Asia. This is a dynamic, collaborative role with exposure to high-impact transactions and projects across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region, all within a supportive and energetic team environment. What you'll bring Demonstrable experience across project development, policy and regulation, corporate, M&A and complex commercial contracting (such as connection/offtake), ideally within the energy and infrastructure sector. An excellent academic record, with the ability to apply technical legal knowledge in a commercial environment. First-class attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to comprehend intricate legal matters and manage large-scale transactions. A focus on client service and growing business and client relationships. A proactive approach and a desire to be an integral member of our leading and supportive team. A keen interest in the energy and infrastructure sectors, with a hunger to learn, develop, and contribute to a market-leading practice.
