Description

In this role, as Senior Audio Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and integrate innovations into our audio products, ensuring they meet customer needs.
You will contribute to all stages of the audio software development lifecycle, from algorithm and AI/ML model design to software implementation and AI model integration, as well as productization, release, debugging, and bug fixing.
You will resolve issues in audio system software and ensure the high quality and expected performance of our products’ audio systems.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND technical engineering experience
  • OR Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND technical engineering experience
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • Research or engineering experience in audio-related AI/ML development using Python.
  • Engineering experience in software development using languages such as C and C++.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in embedded software development.
  • Experience porting audio processing algorithms to DSPs.
  • Experience in audio feature productization, testing, and verification.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally on multiple projects.
  • Previous experience with the Windows platform and audio stack
  • Experience in audio software engineering or audio AI/ML development for consumer electronics.

The selected candidate must have strong communication and teamwork skills. This person will drive audio algorithms and audio-related AI/ML development, software implementation, and the integration and verification of audio algorithms and AI/ML models in fast-paced programs from concept to product delivery.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define requirements for Surface software systems.
  • Participate in agile planning to break down larger tasks into smaller, manageable work items.
  • Participate audio AI/ML model development, including model design, training, verification, integration, and real-time inference on various platforms
  • Design, implement, verify, debug and maintain audio systems for Surface products.
  • Work with internal and external teams to ensure the seamless integration of audio solutions into our products.
  • Identify new opportunities to enhance the audio experience and enable other teams to create innovative solutions
