Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING…

In this role, you’ll ensure that all activities strictly adhere to site license requirements, statutory regulations, and both company and local procedures, fully integrating safety rules into each task. You’ll actively support the Work Management & Commissioning process through the review and execution of station plans and ensure operating procedures are fit for purpose by undertaking periodic or event-based reviews and raising any necessary document amendments.

Key responsibilities in this role include:

  • Apply isolations to plant and apparatus to ensure a safe working environment and protect against system-derived hazards during commissioning and maintenance activities.
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight in the application of Safety Rules during the commissioning phase of projects, including high voltage and mechanical plant systems.
  • Lead the Safety Rules process at HPC by reviewing, updating, and implementing key safety documentation.
  • Actively engage in mentoring and coaching less experienced SAPs, ensuring they are well-versed in isolation techniques and safety practices, with a focus on human performance tools and safety behaviours.
  • Investigate and address the causes of any Safety Rules events, applying problem-solving skills and technical know-how.
  • Conduct in-field monitoring and assessments of personnel performance, ensuring that safety standards and nuclear professionalism are maintained at all times.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by reinforcing best practices and recognising individual contributions to the overall performance of the team.
