POSITION SUMMARY

Leiden Cell Therapy facility uses best available technology for plant automation, all utilities are connected to the Building Automation System, the Electrical Automation System and Power Monitoring Systems. Laboratory and Manufacturing systems are connected to the Process Automation System.
The holder of this role is accountable for the automation of all plant utilities at the Leiden Cell Therapy Facility. The role holder is also responsible for the independent process automation devices located in the facility.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Responsible for integration of utilities with the Building Automation System, Electrical automation system, Power monitoring system and Process automation system.
  • Work with the technical teams to develop the requirements, code and test the deliverables and drive execution of system testing at the site level.
  • Will work on and contribute to the Leiden Cell Therapy Facility Automation Systems (Process automation), the data collection (OSI PI) and analytics deliverables.
  • Partnering with both local and global IT stakeholders and business partners to understand the requirements and design and implementation criteria for automated systems.
  • Delivering the requirements for the Process Automation Systems (DeltaV) infrastructure as well as the Unit operations within the Process automation system.
  • Will manage and support the resolution of critical PAS issues.
  • Act as the site Subject Matter Expert to lead investigations related to Building Automation System issues and during regulatory inspection.
  • Contributes to manufacturing equipment and plant utility systems selection, design reviews, technical approvals, & coordination, receipt and Commissioning and Qualification activities.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in plant automation operation or design in Pharma Manufacturing or Process Development environment.
  • Experience in capital projects and operational engineering, can work in both as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of Process P&ID’s, Automation, Systems, and design
  • Demonstrated innovation, flexibility, open-mindedness, and adaptability to meet objectives in a rapidly changing environment with shifting priorities
  • Pro-active in solving challenging design issues with the ability to develop creative solutions to meet cost, scope and schedule limitations
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and be able to work with minimal supervision, as well as demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing business needs and requests
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrixed organization with a range of technically, culturally, and geographically diverse teams and to influence areas not under direct control to achieve objectives and effectively communicate challenging goals and objectives
  • Ability to provide innovative ideas or alternatives that create value including seeking new information and external insights without compromising compliance
