Description:

Location: USA/Canada
We are seeking an experienced Senior Automation Engineer to join our software maintenance and support team. The primary responsibility of this role is to perform Z/OS Automation and manage the migration from CA OPS/MVS to IBM Tivoli System Automation. As a Senior Engineer, you will work closely with the team to ensure software security, provide support to customers using older versions of the software, and contribute to process improvements.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Must Have:

  • 5-8 years of experience as a Z/OS Senior Automation Engineer.
  • Extensive experience with IBM Tivoli Systems Automation for Z/OS.
  • Proven ability to lead migration from CA OPS/MVS to IBM Tivoli Systems Automation.
  • Expertise in Systems Automation for optimizing critical systems and applications.
  • Ability to convert existing OPS/MVS rules and Rexxexecs to IBM Tivoli Automation policies.
  • Strong collaboration skills with teams across different time zones.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong oral and written communication skills.

Would Be a Plus:

  • Experience with containerization and virtualization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and VMware.

The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $41.61/hour - $65.01/hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Z/OS Automation: Lead the automation process and migration from CA OPS/MVS to IBM Tivoli System Automation.
  • Vulnerability Management: Address published vulnerabilities to ensure the software is secure and resilient.
  • Customer Support: Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues related to Z/OS systems.
  • CVE Backporting: Assist in backporting critical CVEs to maintain software security.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with developers and engineers to optimize software performance and resolve issues.
  • Software Patching: Contribute to the development and implementation of software patches and updates.
  • Process Improvement: Suggest improvements to software maintenance processes and best practices.
  • Code Reviews: Initiate and conduct code reviews, establish code standards, and collaborate with other teams.
  • Reporting: Report on task readiness, raise concerns in critical situations, and meet deadlines with high-quality deliverables.
