OPPORTUNITY OVERVIEW

Teradyne is seeking an experienced and hands-on Automation Engineer to develop active optical alignment systems for high volume manufacturing test of silicon photonics devices, including wafers, optical engines, and co-packaged optics. These test solutions may require either active or passive alignment systems with sub-micron precision, while meeting the highest of reliability and repeatability standards. A solid foundation of knowledge in robotics, fiber optics, electronics, mechanical, and software development is essential to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of our testing processes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and develop robotic automation systems for optical alignment used for silicon photonics testing
  • Develop control software and algorithms for robotic alignment systems
  • Collaborate with diverse cross-functional teams to define test requirements and specifications
  • Conduct data analysis to troubleshoot and optimize the alignment system
  • Maintain and improve existing alignment systems for enhanced performance and reliability
  • Document test procedures, results, and system configurations
  • Stay updated with advancements in silicon photonics, testing methodologies, and robotic alignment technology and algorithms
