The corporate headquarters is in East Jordan, Michigan, where the company was founded in 1883.   Location:  Elmira, MI   SUMMARY Responsible for generating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and updating automated grinding and machining station programming for the Finishing Department. In addition, the Senior Automated Machining Technician will assist with all phases of new equipment selection, testing and commissioning.  Will also assist with overseeing Machine/Automation Technicians.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.   * Promotes the culture, the mission and vision, and the core values of the company. This includes adherence to and promotion of the company safety beliefs, employee engagement, competencies, code of conduct, and other policies and procedures. * Programs multiple machines using Fanuc, Beckhoff or other M/G code operating systems. * Verifies and audits setups on vertical lathe and automated grinding equipment. * Creates and updates setup sheets and required visual aids. * Maintains and updates programs on the equipment and server directory. * Conduct insert/tooling, grinding wheel trials and evaluations with leader/supervisor. * Resolve discrepancies and assist in developing solutions to improve manufacturing methods and optimize cycle times. * Review blueprints and engineering specifications to determine correct machining process. * Assist in the development & manufacture of fixturing.   QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Key capabilities include M/G code programming. Six Sigma and/or Lean manufacturing experience helpful. * Must have experience running a CNC machine. * Must have experience with Blueprint reading, G-Code Reading, and perform quality auditing and checking. * Experience with Calipers, Micrometers, tape measure and other quality measurement tools * Other attributes should include Self- directed requiring minimal supervision, sense of urgency, and attention to detail. * Experience with Doosan, Bullard Vertical Lathes, automated grinding cells, Fanuc and Beckhoff controls a plus.
