Description Company Overview: MOBIS Technical Center of North America is the Research & Development Center for Hyundai MOBIS, a Tier 1 supplier and an affiliate under Hyundai Motor Group. MOBIS produces and supplies a wide variety of automotive components to customers including component modules (chassis, cockpit and front-end module), core system, eco-friendly and DAS-mechatronics. Mobis delivers the design and development of advanced engineering, autonomous driving, infotainment, component modules, safety, brake and steering systems, lamp, ICS/electronics and software development solutions that consider the safety and convenience of our customers as well as the future. POSITION OVERVIEW: Monitor and guide lamp system design progress; suggest alternative solutions to improve design direction and resolve technical issues; train engineers in tooling fundamentals and BOM creation for RFQs; review and evaluate CAD models using CATIA expertise; manage mechanical architecture development for exterior lighting systems; coordinate with CAE, manufacturing, and testing teams; oversee development of control units and LED electronics from quotation to production; manage DFMEA, PFMEA, and control plans at all development stages; lead DVP&R, wiring schematics, and component selection; act as primary technical contact for lamp structure-related matters; review conceptual sketches and evaluate design feasibility; lead testing, troubleshooting, and validation of lamp samples; ensure compliance with internal processes and automotive standards; present technical results to customers and negotiate solutions; coordinate quality planning and cost-effective structural improvements; manage technical communications with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field, plus five (5) years of progressive experience PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Position requires occasional or frequent moderate physical activity. EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: A typical work week is 40 hours/week. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Office work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements. Shop or laboratory work involves some exposure to moderate risk of accident and requires following basic safety precautions. In-field, PG, or track testing involves frequent exposure to unpleasant elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, loud noises, chemicals, etc. Stress may occur periodically.
