We currently have an opening for a full-time permanent Systems & Avionics Engineer based in British Columbia, Canada. The Systems & Avionics Engineer provides aircraft systems and avionics technical expertise to support development, modification, and certification of specialized mission aircraft.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, modification, and certification of aircraft systems, including hydraulic, electrical, and avionics, specific to missionized airborne equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with Transport Canada, FAA, and other regulatory authorities.
  • Prepare, review, and submit certification programs and reports to regulatory bodies.
  • Develop and/or validate system schematics, wiring diagrams, and installation instructions for airborne equipment.
  • Write and interpret aircraft system design specifications (including hydraulic, mechanical, avionics, and electrical equipment).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, including structural and design engineers, to integrate systems into specialized aircraft platforms.
  • Oversee aircraft system performance analysis and troubleshoot technical issues encountered during testing or operational phases.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of design and certification in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Review customer feedback and propose innovative solutions to improve the product.

  • Knowledge of digital instruments, digital communications, and high-level navigation systems.
  • TCCA delegation in electrical, avionics, and/or mechanical systems is desirable.
  • Professional Engineering qualification (EGBC P.Eng or equivalent) is desirable.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies in aircraft systems and avionics.

Training & Education

  • Degree in Electrical/Avionics Engineering or Diploma in Electrical/Avionics Technology.
  • Senior experience in Electrical/Avionics Engineering.
