About the role
We’re looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer with strong AWS experience to help lead the design and rollout of a new cloud infrastructure. This role will play a key part in our growth, involving the transition from an existing hosting setup to a more scalable and flexible AWS environment.
You’ll also contribute to building the automation and tooling needed to support client onboarding and platform migration. This is a hands-on, strategic role ideal for someone who thrives on ownership, has deep AWS knowledge, and understands the complexities of SaaS infrastructure and customer migrations.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps or Cloud Engineering roles with a focus on AWS.
  • Demonstrated experience planning and executing cloud migrations, especially from third-party hosting providers to AWS.
  • Deep knowledge of AWS core services (EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.).
  • Strong experience with PHP applications and MySQL in cloud environments.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Code Pipeline, or Jenkins.
  • Proficient with IaCtools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Solid grasp of containerization (Docker) and AWS orchestration (ECS, EKS).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability using tools such as Datadog.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Similar AWS certification.
  • Experience migrating multi-tenant SaaS applications and client environments.
  • Familiarity with Agile workflows and DevSecOps principles.

Responsibilities
  • Architect and build a secure, scalable, and high-availability AWS infrastructure to support our SaaS platform.
  • Lead the end-to-end migration from our current third-party hosting provider to AWS.
  • Develop processes, tooling, and automation for migrating customer environments and data into our new AWS infrastructure.
  • Apply hands-on expertise in AWS, Terraform, and Datadog to provision, monitor, and manage cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with development team to containerize and optimise PHP/MySQL applications for AWS deployment.
  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines to support reliable and automated deployments.

Establish monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure high performance and availability.

  • Define security best practices, IAM policies, and compliance procedures across our AWS environment.
  • Support post-migration operations and continuous infrastructure improvement.
  • Implement robust database backup and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Coordinate with current hosting providers and third-party vendors to ensure a smooth and secure transition to AWS.
  • Act as the technical liaison during the handover process, ensuring continuity and minimal disruption.
  • Define infrastructure standards, governance processes and documentation to support long-term scalability and maintainability& change management.
  • Understanding of compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001orSOC 2.
  • Ability to implement infrastructure controls and audit mechanisms to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Skilled in creating infrastructure documentation, runbooks, and onboarding guides.
