• Develop, further develop and manage scalable backend services and APIs.
• Design and implement robust solutions with a focus on performance, security and high availability.
• Participate in technical design, architecture discussions and decisions regarding the long-term development of systems.
• Develop and maintain high-quality code with associated testing, monitoring and documentation.
• Work with databases, data models and efficient solutions for storing and managing data.
• Conduct troubleshooting, performance analyses and improvements to existing systems.
• Contribute to the automation of build, test and delivery processes within CI/CD.
• Collaborate closely with product owners, front-end developers, other technical roles and the business to translate needs into working solutions.
• Be a technical role model and contribute to knowledge sharing, code review and development of the team's working methods.

Qualifications and experience

We are looking for someone who has:

• Several years of experience in backend development in a production environment.
• Very good knowledge of Java or equivalent programming language.
• Good understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns and software architecture.
• Very good knowledge of different types of databases, SQL and understanding of data modeling.
• Experience with version control, such as Git, and agile development methods.
• Experience writing automated tests and working in a structured way with quality assurance.
• Good understanding of performance, scalability, security and reliability in distributed systems.
