About the opportunity We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Platform Enablement team within our Platform Engineering Domain at N26. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you’ll work on complex and meaningful challenges using modern technology, and you’ll be encouraged to stay on the cutting edge of industry developments. This role is a Hybrid role based in our Berlin or Barcelona offices. In this role, you will: Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain software in a thriving environment. Collaborate closely with your Tech Lead on architecting new features and seeing them through to completion. Stay up to date with the latest trends in technology. Work within your cross-functional team to uphold the highest technical standards right across the product. What you need to be successful:: Significant experience in developing software using Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot in large-scale production systems. Solid experience with software development best practices and software architectures (Distributed systems, Domain Driven Design, Testing). Full professional proficiency in English. Previous experience with cloud architectures, preferably with AWS. Nice to have: Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) Hands-on experience developing and/or operating event streaming platforms (preferably Kafka).
