As a Senior Backend Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in evolving our API services — owning key architectural decisions, modernizing legacy systems, and supporting product teams with best practices for APIs, database design, and performance.
You’ll help ensure that our cloud-based platform, hosted on AWS, stays robust, reliable, and ready for the future.

• You design, develop, and maintain core RESTful APIs using PHP (Laravel)
• You take ownership of architectural guidelines and support product teams on API design, implementation and performance optimization
• You actively drive the reduction of technical debt and the modernization of legacy components
• You collaborate closely with PMs (especially from the API team) and engineers across teams to ensure scalable, maintainable solutions
• You contribute to Xentral’s ever-evolving cloud platform, hosted in AWS, and stay open to working with API topics across teams
• You foster a culture of quality through code reviews, testing, and shared technical standards
• You ensure that reliability, scalability, and performance are at the core of every solution
