Description
The Senior Benefit Analyst role operates as the subject matter expert and escalation point person who is responsible for resolving issues while continuously looking for improvements in operational processes and handling implementation of those design initiatives. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Act as Marketing team lead in the preparation of letters and bid specifications for Request for Proposals (RFP's) follow up on RFP's and maintenance of the "Pending Files" for RFP's Review necessary census and historical data for bid process on clients Offer guidance to Sales Executives, Account Executives and Account Managers on carriers and products appropriate for the lines of business quoted Establish positive working relationships with Carrier Service and Sales Representatives Negotiate with carriers for best new and renewal rates Provide marketing research information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data for preparation of benchmark and trend reports Implement quality control measures, internally and across offices/locations to create greater consistency and efficiencies Serve as facilitator of various new and renewal rate meetings to review information with stakeholders Monitor workload of Benefit Marketing team to ensure deadlines are met, identify process improvement initiatives and recommend new process standards Assist in training Benefit Marketing team members on new or enhanced operational procedures and policies Conduct all business in accordance with established policies and procedures Attend onsite and offsite client meetings as necessary Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: High School Diploma or GED 3+ years in group benefits with at least 1+ years in an Account Manager, Marketer or similar level role Licensed in Arizona Health, Life and Disability (or ability to be licensed within 3 months of employment) Excellent time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills with high attention to detail Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, with internal and external parties Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients, carriers and peers Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams Ability to analyze/interpret data and take appropriate action Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point) Preferred: Some college or technical training in related discipline Continuing education such as RHU, REBC, CEBS, or CBP Experience using BrokerageBuilder Experience using various carrier websites
