SENIOR BENEFITS ANALYST

(Mix of Specialist/Analyst Responsibilities)
Location: Galleria (Validated Parking Provided)
Hours: In-office only, flexible start time (8:00–5:00, 8:30–5:30, or 9:00–6:00)
Assignment: Temporary, 3+ months with possibility of direct hire
Pay: $36 - 38/hour
Start Date: ASAP

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Benefits Analyst will support the organization’s Health & Welfare and Retirement programs across multiple affiliates. This role involves ensuring compliance, assisting employees with benefits questions, preparing reports, and supporting open enrollment and communication initiatives. The position is ideal for a benefits-focused professional with strong technical and analytical skills who thrives in a collaborative, customer-service-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators.
  • Coordinate data transfers for services, premiums, and plan administration.
  • Support daily benefits processing, including enrollments, COBRA, terminations, beneficiaries, disability/accident/death claims, rollovers, QDROs, QMCSOs, distributions, loans, hardships, and compliance testing.
  • Oversee benefits files, group benefits database, and employee payroll updates.
  • Prepare and process monthly billing and administrative fee payments.
  • Analyze current benefits programs, usage, and costs; make recommendations for improvements and cost containment.
  • Conduct audits and prepare data for actuarial assessments.
  • Monitor trends, complete surveys, and forecast future benefit design needs.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state regulations (ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, etc.).
  • Support open enrollment and benefits communication efforts.
  • Mentor and assist Benefits Analysts as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 years of benefits experience with expertise in both Health & Welfare and Retirement.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable federal/state regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, Macros).
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems (SuccessFactors preferred).
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • CEBS certification preferred.
