To be successful as a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist you will need a background in bioinformatics with a particular focus on analytical problem solving, data visualization and good communication skills. The position requires accommodation to meeting times to overlap with Pacific time zone hours.
The Role
The Senior Scientist will play a crucial role in supporting and enhancing NGS clinical products currently on the market. The role includes investigating customer inquiries, communicating findings to internal teams, understanding bioinformatic algorithms used in these products, and designing and conducting data analysis to improve product performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance for bioinformatic questions and customer inquiries.
  • Perform data analysis to address issues with clinical on-market products.
  • Collaborate with assay and manufacturing teams analyze experiments supporting existing Illumina clinical assays.
  • Communicate results effectively across functions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors with 5 years experience, MS with 3 yrs experience OR PhD in bioinformatics, computation biology, statistics, math or related field
  • Experience with common bioinformatics methods, and NGS data analysis.
  • Proficiency in Linux for bioinformatics software development and data processing
  • Familiarity in programming languages such as Python or R
  • Good communication skills to contribute to cross functional project teams and work with stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to new technologies and methodologies
