Alpine Intel is looking for bright candidates with a passion for problem solving to join our growing team.   Mecanica Scientific Services is looking for a Senior Bio-Mechanical Engineer to build and lead the Biomechanical Engineering practice across our western regional offices. Incumbents in this position report to Director of Technical Services and utilizes their expertise to provide bio-mechanical engineering consulting services to Mecanica Scientific’s growing client base.   Mecanica Scientific Services is a scientific and engineering services consulting firm providing engineering and scientific analysis services to the legal, automotive, commercial truck and bus manufacturing, transportation, transportation research and insurance industries.Mecanica utilizes the latest in cutting edge tools, technologies and methodologies in the areas of accident reconstruction and Event Data Recorders for documenting and analyzing accidents and related EDR data as well as for communicating our analysis and findings clearly and concisely to our clients.     What Does Alpine Intel Offer You? * Competitive Compensation Package    * Career Growth * A Diverse & Positive Work Environment  * Professional Development  * Employee Referral Bonus  * Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Coverage * 401K with Match * HSA  * Company Paid Life Insurance * Company Paid Short-Term and Long-Term Disability * Paid Time Off and Holidays   Key Responsibilities Include: * Build out a scalable Biomechanical engineering consulting practice leveraging Mecanica Scientific’s culture to find and foster a team of biomechanical engineering experts focused on the analysis of occupant injuries and injury potential in highway vehicle crashes involving pedestrians, bicyclist, motorcyclists, passenger car occupants, medium-duty truck and bus occupants, and heavy-duty truck and bus occupants. * Foster a team of biomechanical engineering experts focused on the analysis of injuries in the premise liability case analysis segment. * Participate in the Mecanica Leadership Team and organizational leadership work to foster collaboration between Mecanica’s branches of scientific and engineering work in the areas of highway vehicle crash reconstruction, human factors, commercial vehicle operations, Forensic Media Team * Oversee and lead biomechanics projects related to human injury analysis * Analysis and review of technical biomechanical data focused on kinematics, dynamics, mechanisms of injury, and the human tolerance to the exposure of external forces, crash pulses, and fall exposures * Conduct and collaborate on research for the purposes of keeping a leading position on the latest research work by writing and preseting peer reviewed technical papers and scientific journal papers * Maintain active participation in key research and safety committees to promote and contribute to the continuing improvement to highway safety improvement. * Uses computer assisted simulation and analysis tools such as MADYMO, xxx, yyyy. * Utilizes data and analysis work obtained from field and vehicle inspections to collaborate with the crash reconstruction team * Conduct or collaborate with rapid response to field investigations of accidents requested by clients * Conduct or collaborate with field investigations of accidents, documents accident scene and vehicles using forensic documentation procedures * Reviews reports and various documents provided by engineering team and clients * Communicates with engineering team throughout individual projects * Works as a team member * Timely submission of billing expenses and hours via Mecanica’s internal system platforms. * Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed * Makes copies of drawings and maintains information regarding changes to database   Minimum Qualifications: * Must possess a Master’s degree or Doctorate related to Biomechanics Engineering, Bioengineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field * P.E. license is desired but not required * Minimum of eight (8) years of experience preferable in crashworthiness, occupant protection, or transportation and/or automobiles * Bilingual English/Spanish is a strong desire but not required * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Presently legally authorized to work in the United States   Physical Requirements: * Frequent travel to crash scenes * Ability to work in field environments * Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and lifting during investigations   To learn more about us visit https://alpineintel.com/   Alpine Intel is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
