Responsibilities

A vacancy has arisen for a full time HCPC registered Senior Biomedical Scientist in our Biochemistry Department based at the North Middlesex University Hospital.
The department is a 24/7 rapid response laboratory, consisting of Roche pre and post-analytical analysers (p612 and p671), Roche Cobas C8000 analysers, Osmometer 1 and Covid testing equipment.
The ideal candidate will have experience in leading a team of staff with responsibility for providing a comprehensive, high quality laboratory service to all HSL clients. The Senior Biomedical Scientist must use a combination of knowledge, decision making, organisational and supervisory skills to ensure that the appropriate testing is performed safely, accurately and in a timely manner.
The role will involve managing staff and various sections within the Rapid Response Laboratory as directed by the Head of Biochemistry, working in collaboration with the other senior scientific staff in providing an efficient and effective service and to ensure the maintenance of scientific standards of HSL.
The successful candidate should hold an MSc degree or equivalent qualification and have current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
