The BMS Senior Applications Engineer will provide expert-level application engineering and system support required to design, develop, coordinate, deliver, manage, and evolve BMS/EPMS systems, hardware and software standards, programming, graphics, add-ons, and tools to support and enhance our growing business.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth technical reviews of building automation system submittals including the specification and sizing of valves, controllers, electromechanical devices, sensors, networks, and computer hardware to meet the project requirements, specifications, codes and IMDC standards;
  • Conduct reviews of other associated project documentation such as bid specifications, equipment shop-drawings, and mechanical and electrical drawings for compliance with the IMDC design standards, and to identify any equipment compatibility issues and design discrepancies;
  • Clearly communicate any issues with the design of the BMS/EPMS, design or configuration of the proposed mechanical and electrical equipment, proposed equipment shop-drawings, plans and specifications, or customer design requirements with the Project Manager and field team to provide a cost-effective design solution, as well as provide alternate design recommendations to engineering consultants for clarification/approval;
  • Reviewing complex sequence of operations based on HVAC principles that relate to temperature, humidity and flow control (both hydronic and air flow) and according to building codes and ASHRAE standards, and providing feedback and input to the design team including suggested modifications, and provide approval when IMDC standards are met;
  • Advanced configuration of the WebCTRL system using SiteBuilder, development of complex control programming including those that include third-party integration using Eikon, development of graphical and text-based interfaces for building automation systems using Eikon and ViewBuilder.
  • Perform validation testing of programming and interfaces before deployment, review functional testing and commissioning of complex building systems such as chiller plants and large 3rd party integrations to ensure adherence to project requirements and company and customer standards in all aspects of design, programming, and implementation.
  • Review final documentation of the building automation system that incorporates all changes made since issuance of the submittal, accept project turnover (when complete),
  • Mentorship and development of other team members.
  • Identification and communication of project opportunities and risks related to cost, time, and technical considerations.
