DESCRIPTION

AppleOne is seeking a detail oriented Senior Bookkeeper/Office Administrator for a client in Hamilton, ON. This role is about 80% focused on accounting and bookkeeping duties, and about 20% with administrative and project support.The successful candidate will bring solid accounting experience, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with management and junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete monthly and year-end financial postings
  • Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Prepare and file remittances and bank reconciliations
  • Process payroll for approximately 55 employees
  • Support the owner with special projects as needed
  • Assist in preparing pre-qualification documents for estimates and proposals
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with financial policies

Qualifications:

  • 5–7 years of experience in a similar full-cycle bookkeeping or accounting role
  • Proficient with Sage accounting software (preferred), though experience with QuickBooks or other platforms will be considered
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Comfortable mentoring or supporting junior team members
  • Organized, mature, and able to manage competing priorities effectively
