Oversee multiple client files, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and consistency across accounts. Review bookkeeping work prepared by junior bookkeepers, providing guidance, feedback, and quality control. Handle month-end and year-end bookkeeping, including monthly, quarterly, and annual GST/HST returns. Manage client onboarding, including setting up bookkeeping files, completing catch-up and clean-up bookkeeping, and ensuring seamless integration into accounting systems. Document bookkeeping files clearly and thoroughly so they can be efficiently handed off to other team members. Train and support junior bookkeepers, assist with complex client files, and prepare documentation to ensure smooth workflows. Maintain accurate records using QuickBooks Online (QBO) and DEXT. Prepare journal entries, bank reconciliations, and financial reports, ensuring CRA compliance (including assistance with CRA audits). Handle accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR). Generate accurate monthly financial reports in a timely manner. Assist in documenting and improving internal processes. Communicate professionally with clients, acting as a trusted point of contact. Collaborate with the team and contribute to a positive remote work culture. About You Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping experience in a firm(QBO required). Strong understanding of finance and accounting principles. Deep knowledge of AP, AR, reconciliations, and monthly close. Experience filings sales tax returns. Proficiency in cloud accounting tools such as QBO, DEXT and Plooto. Comfortable using task management tools (e.g., ClickUp, Karbon) and CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Zendesk). Highly organized, dependable, proactive, and deadline-driven. Reliable high-speed internet and a dedicated, quiet home workspace.
