    The ACCOUNTED FOR YOU business is growing, and we’re looking for a detail-driven Senior Bookkeeper / Team Leader, to own and manage complex accounts, lead by example, and support the day to day workings of our team of passionate bookkeepers. This is a hands on role for someone who thrives in the doing – client rescue jobs, reconciliations, tricky transactions and all the important (& sometimes complex!) work that keeps client files squeaky clean.
    While you’ll quickly become the go to for questions for junior members of the team, and become their review and escalation point, most of your time will be spent in client files, not people wrangling. You’ll be confident with your own skills, and quick to spot what’s needed to keep things moving.
    This might be perfect for you if you’ve had your own business before, and realised you’d rather be in the client work instead of running the business, or you might simply be an experienced bookkeeper looking for a new team, a new challenge, or step up into leadership. This is a stable, long term role for someone who wants to join a truly happy and collaborative team, and who takes pride in being a trusted expert.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years bookkeeping experience, in a practice setting across multiple industries
  • BAS or Tax Agent Registration (or working towards it)
  • Advanced Xero, Karbon & XPM knowledge
  • Must be an Australian Resident or citizen with full working rights
  • Employed role only – no subcontractors or agencies

Responsibilities

This role is built for an experienced BAS Agent / bookkeeper, who’s ready to take a leadership role within a small, skilled team by example, while keeping their head in the detail, and their hands on the work.

You’ll look after:

  • Complex reconciliations, payrolls and tricky transaction treatments
  • Taking charge of rescue jobs, and technical client projects
  • Reviewing team work before lodgement, and providing clear constructive feedback
  • Answering day to day questions from the accounts team, and stepping in when needed
  • Covering client work across the team during leave or peak periods
  • Staying across legislative and compliance changes, and knowing when to act or escalate
  • This is a remote role, starting late Aug/early Sep, spread across Monday-Thursday, for approx 15-20 hours per week, with room to grow for the right person!
