Description

Sanzaru is looking for a talented Combat Designer to collaborate, craft, and elevate virtual reality combat experiences. As a Combat Designer, you will work directly with the Game Directors and discipline leads to evolve traditional combat to a truly visceral experience in virtual reality. You’ll own and carry designs from start to finish, working closely with cross-functional teams. A heavy emphasis will be on moment-to-moment play testing and tuning to ensure the most compelling combat experiences.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of industry experience working on different platforms
  • Shipped 2+ AAA titles on high-end platforms
  • Hardcore gamer that understands combat and systems design inside and out
  • Demonstrated experience assessing system architecture and combat design needs
  • Working knowledge of Unreal Engine, specifically scripting and UE blueprint
  • Understands the specific development challenges within a VR environment
  • Experience multi-tasking and adapting easily to change
  • Proven communication skills and experience interacting effectively
  • Familiar with creating boss fights and combat scenarios

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Animation or code background and/or in a related field
  • Experience in VR

  • Evolve and understand what makes combat fun and rewarding
  • Effectively communicate regularly and problem solve with leadership
  • Evaluate features needed to improve and streamline implementation of gameplay systems
  • Understand and adhere to hardware limitations using creative solutions
