What will this role achieve?
We are looking for an experience and comically focused Senior Brand Manager to join our Cake team. You will play a pivotal role in crafting and executing our cake strategy and driving commercial performance. The role is best suited to a highly collaborative, execution focused Marketer with proven end-to-end experience.
The position reports into the Marketing Manager and will have 1 direct report, whilst working alongside 2 Brand Manager’s. The position is based in Chiswick (Hybrid 3:2).
What will be your key deliverables?
- Lead the development and delivery of brand strategy & plans across the area of responsibility, to meet business sales and profit targets in line with Brand Planning process and pladis UK performance metrics.
- Own the development of the annual brand plan, identify market opportunities for brand growth based on a clear understanding of consumer insight and the competitive landscape. Build a commercially strong brand plan to deliver brand growth and share gain.
- Work with manager to define and deliver 3-year strategic plan for area of responsibility
- Lead the part of the brand portfolio, managing performance, recommending actions and motivating teams and other functions to drive brand performance
- Delivery of Brand and business performance metrics. Have a strong commercial awareness of brand performance and regularly update Marketing Director (and UKLT where appropriate) on key issues / successes. Regularly review plan and performance throughout year, taking appropriate remedial action as vital
- Emphasis on using data and insights to drive projects and the development of the brand
- Drive key brand projects, working with a cross functional team across the pladis business – be the project lead, this will include innovation execution, design, price / pack architecture.
- Supply to the Brand Innovation strategy and the prioritisation & management of planned initiatives, leading specific brand and NPD projects. Working closely with the Innovation team and commercialisation team to drive market leading innovation and best in class execution
- Drive the consumer agenda, working with CMI partners to bring consumer closeness and insight led plan development and activities.
- Assist the Marketing Manager/Marketing Director in communications development and execution across the brand and management of cross agency team in relation to areas of brand responsibility.
- Control Marketing expenditure within pre-agreed budget and ensure evaluation of all spend on a continuous basis
- Manage the development of strong coordinated marketing plans, as appropriate across OOH, digital, social media, in-store. Lead cross functional teams to deliver ongoing brand building and sales driving programmes, including in-store activation and new product launches.

Essential:
- Proven experience in working within a commercial/sales function, or in a Marketing role with considerable commercial collaboration within an FMCG environment.
- Proven track record of good project management experience.
- To demonstrate the ability to lead and influence partner at all levels of the business.
- Passionate about growing and building brands.
- Determination, entrepreneurialism, ambition and drive.
- Energy for working collaboratively and crafting initiatives that build growth. There is real scope for success with this portfolio and a real focus for business growth over three years.
- To be a self-starter, able to work across multiple projects and fields.
- FMCG experience on brands with a consistent record in achieving results-oriented growth plans.
- Experience of cross functional working.

- Degree in Marketing or Business
What will the interview process be?
- 1st stage interview – 45 minutes competency-based interview based on our company values and your experiences.
- 2nd stage interview – 60 minutes – a technical interview to understand your skill set/case study or presentation interview. .
