The Bridges and Civil and Offshore Structures (BCOS) team undertakes exciting and challenging engineering mandates for major bridge projects throughout Canada, including those of the Technical Advisor to the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility (MTMD) for the replacement of the 2km Ile d’Orléans Bridge with a 430m cable stay span near Quebec City, the Independent Certifier and Design Checker role for the replacement of the Ile aux Tourtes Bridge in Montreal, the lead design role for the Trois-Pistoles River bridge in Quebec, the Technical Advisor role to Metrolinx for the planning, design, procurement, and construction phases of Eglinton Crosstown West Extension (ECWE), and the Technical Advisor to Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) for the replacement of the iconic Alexandra Bridge in Ottawa.
The Senior Bridge Engineer will be based in our Ottawa office and join a small core team at the heart of the Alexandra Bridge project, which aims to deliver a signature multi-modal bridge in the center of Canada’s capital, located in front of the Parliament Buildings, and between the National Gallery of Canada and the Canadian Museum of History. The project has a complex approvals and stakeholder engagement process involving multiple parties and requires a bridge design coordinator to support the Lead Bridge Engineer in the overall coordination of the bridge engineering and architectural teams, manage requirements related to bridge design, and coordinate the interface between the bridge design teams and the client and project key stakeholders. The Senior Bridge Engineer will also support the development of the BCOS team in Ottawa and business development activities in the Capital National Region (NCR).
