ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a full time Senior Bridge Engineer – Bridge to join our Melbourne based transport delivery team for 9-month fixed term contract. With many exciting major infrastructure projects in the pipeline, in this role you will be overseeing the delivery of projects to ensure the on-going profitability and success of the business by providing technical leadership on local design outputs and ensuring all work meet the requirements of the clients and stakeholders.

DAY TO DAY TASKS WOULD INVOLVE:

• Develop design concepts and carrying out detailed design of simple and complex bridges, underpasses, retaining walls, Sign Gantries and other infrastructure structures.
• Plan and carry out site inspections of structures, when required.
• Perform advance finite element analysis.
• Perform soil-structure analysis and foundation design.
• Prepare design documentation, technical reports and client’s specifications
• Manage interface with civil and geotechnical disciplines and incorporate civil and geotechnical design elements within the structural design envelope.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL FOR THIS ROLE YOU’LL NEED:

• Tertiary qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Demonstrated 5 -10 years’ experience in bridge design/engineering as well as other structural design projects, including bridge and road infrastructure, temporary works etc
• Familiarity with local authority and state government approval and regulatory requirements
• Growing understanding of commercial concepts (i.e. financial, legal).
• Thorough knowledge, or ability to gain thorough knowledge, of relevant standards, legislation and Australian Standards.
