QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree or diploma in Broadcast Engineering, Media Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a live broadcast or OB engineering role with a focus on vision systems.
  • Expert knowledge of HD/UHD cameras, vision mixers, shading systems, signal flow, and routing protocols.
  • Strong experience with leading vision equipment brands (e.g., Sony, Grass Valley, EVS, Blackmagic, etc.).
  • Proficient in diagnosing and resolving complex signal and equipment issues under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team while working in collaborative, cross-functional environments.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Flexible to travel and work extended hours, weekends, or night shifts as required by production schedules.
  • Valid UAE driving license preferred.
Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW:

As a Senior Broadcast Engineer – Vision at NEP Middle East, you will lead the setup, operation, and maintenance of vision systems across a wide range of live broadcast productions and events. You’ll serve as a key technical expert for all vision-related requirements, ensuring high standards of image quality, signal flow, camera control, and shading. This role demands in-depth knowledge of broadcast vision systems, excellent troubleshooting skills, and leadership in high-pressure environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the design, setup, and configuration of vision systems including cameras, shading, routing, and monitoring solutions for live productions.
  • Oversee all aspects of camera racking and CCU operation during live events, ensuring consistent image quality across multiple camera chains.
  • Provide expert-level support in configuring and troubleshooting routers, vision mixers, waveform monitors, and multi-viewers.
  • Collaborate closely with production teams, camera operators, and directors to meet creative and technical requirements.
  • Conduct pre-event equipment checks, tests, and system integration to ensure readiness and compliance with production specifications.
  • Act as the technical lead for vision during onsite and OB (Outside Broadcast) deployments, supervising junior engineers where needed.
  • Manage fault diagnostics and implement swift solutions during live operations to minimize downtime or disruptions.
  • Maintain documentation and schematics for vision system configurations and workflows.
  • Ensure all health, safety, and technical standards are met, particularly when working with power, signal, and rigging infrastructure.
  • Support the training and development of junior broadcast engineers and apprentices.
  • Participate in post-event debriefings and contribute to the continual improvement of technical processes.
