ABOUT US:

The Victorian Road Safety Strategy 2021-2030 commits to the ambitious target of eliminating death from our roads by 2050, with the first step of halving road deaths by 2030. It also seeks to reduce the incidence of serious injury resulting from road crashes. The Road Safety manages Victoria’s road safety camera network and is a representative for the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) in Victoria’s road safety partnership.
Road Safety contributes to this partnership in the operation of road safety cameras, and the policy and strategic directions of the broader road safety enforcement. Road Safety is accountable to the Minister for Police and the Office of the Road Safety Camera Commissioner.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The purpose of the Senior Budget Coordinator - Projects is to develop and provide timely and budget coordinate, financial reporting data and forecasting advice to the Senior Manager, Finance and Contracts Management to support the delivery of road safety camera projects.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Working proactively to ensure that future budget commitments can be met, and that potential risks and opportunities have been identified and mitigated.
  • Supporting transactional and strategic procurement activities across the Road Safety business unit.
  • Coordinating the financial reporting to forecast financial performance of contracts, projects, financial phasings and accruals.

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Demonstrated experience in a complex budget forecasting role in a government environment with proven ability to provide expert forecasting reports and commercial governance advice.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain complex documentation and commercial reports of a standard to withstand the closest of scrutiny and analyse key budget data as well as finalise forecasted financial trends.
  • Working knowledge of Contract Management Frameworks, and the Financial Management and Compliance Frameworks, and commercial governance and confidentiality requirements
