Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Senior Building Control Surveyor, you’ll take a leadership role in delivering high-quality, regulation-compliant developments. You’ll:

  • Manage complex Building Regulation applications under the Building Act 1984, ensuring compliance across safety, sustainability, and accessibility standards.
  • Oversee investigations into dangerous structures and demolition notifications, ensuring public safety.
  • Support and lead enforcement actions to uphold the Council’s statutory responsibilities.
  • Contribute to mentoring and development of junior surveyors and help shape service delivery as we continue to modernise.
  • Represent the service professionally with developers, architects, and residents, building trust and adding value.

Whether you’re already Class 2 registered with the Building Safety Regulator, or are actively working towards it, we want to hear from you.
