Description:
Cranleigh STEM & Sustainability have partnered with a leading consultancy dedicated to driving sustainability in the built environment. They are seeking a Senior Building Physics Consultant to join their growing team.
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 3-5 years’ experience in the construction industry (e.g. sustainability consultancy, architecture, planning, M&E, or related fields)
- A relevant degree in Engineering, Physics, Maths, Sustainability, or a related discipline
- Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations and planning policies
- Experience with industry design software, including IES VE, SketchUp, AutoCAD, and CFD
- Familiarity with GLA planning requirements
- Experience in overheating/daylight assessments and thermal bridging analysis
- Proficiency in IES Apache HVAC for detailed energy modelling
- Experience using CAD software (e.g. SketchUp, Rhino, Grasshopper) and Radiance/Ladybug tools

Responsibilities:
This role offers the opportunity to provide expert technical and strategic advice across a range of building physics services, including:
- Thermal Comfort & Overheating Assessments
- Building Regulations Compliance (SAP/SBEM)
- Thermal Bridging Analysis
- Energy Strategy and Energy Statements
- Daylight, Sunlight & Overshadowing Studies
- Internal Daylight Modelling
- Low and Zero Carbon (LZC) Feasibility Studies
- Operational Energy Modelling (TM54)
You’ll work closely with design teams on high-profile projects, ensuring best practice in building physics and sustainability. Additionally, you’ll contribute to producing high-quality reports, managing key client accounts, and fostering long-term client relationships.
