ASSYST is seeking a skilled Senior Business Analyst to support our client in Austin TX

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Analyst with at least 8 years of experience in eliciting, analyzing, and documenting business and system requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in software development life cycles (SDLCs), business process improvement, user story development, and UX design principles. Prior experience working with educational agencies or programs like the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed interviews with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements.
  • Translate business needs into clear, concise, and actionable system requirements and documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, testers, and product owners throughout the SDLC.
  • Create user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria based on business analysis best practices.
  • Develop wireframes, mockups, and process flows that align with user experience (UX) best practices.
  • Lead or support efforts in business process re-engineering and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings, workshops, and requirement review sessions.
  • Track and manage requirements using requirements management tools such as Modern Requirements (preferred).
  • Utilize issue tracking software such as Atlassian Jira for documenting user stories, tasks, and bugs (preferred).
  • Support QA and UAT processes by validating that delivered solutions meet documented requirements.
  • Prepare detailed documentation, reports, and communication materials for project stakeholders.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in gathering and eliciting requirements through customer interviews and translating them into clear, comprehensive system requirements.
  • 8 years of experience working across various Software Development Life Cycles (SDLCs).
  • 8 years of experience in business process re-engineering and enhancing software process flows.
  • 8 years of experience developing user stories and use cases in alignment with business analysis best practices.
  • 8 years of experience creating mockups and wireframes that adhere to user experience (UX) design standards.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience demonstrating strong communication and facilitation skills with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • 5 years of experience showcasing excellent writing and organizational capabilities.
  • At least 3 years of experience using Modern Requirements for managing and documenting system requirements.
  • At least 3 years of experience working with Atlassian Jira for issue tracking and project/task management.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience collaborating with or working for the Texas Education Agency (TEA) or other state/local education agencies.
  • 1 year of documented experience working with the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) program.
