We are responsible for the people systems that support core HR, integrations and payroll across the organisation ensuring they are effective, reliable and continuously improved. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst who can act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert between end users and IT to ensure that business and user requirements are delivered in IT solutions. Mō te Tūranga | About the Role We sat down with the People Leader (who you’ll report to), and they told us the following about the role: This is an Auckland based position and is a permanent, full time opportunity. It is a hybrid role with three days in the office and two days where you can work flexibly. Due to the tight timeframes leading up to the Christmas period, we will be scheduling interviews for mid-January with an ideal start date in February. What are 5 day to day tasks the person in this role will complete? Leads stakeholder engagement to align solutions with strategic objectives Provides strategic insights and recommendations to support decision making and organisational growth Drives process improvement through data analysis and workflow optimisation. Facilitates agile delivery by bridging communication between product owners, developers, and end-users. Meet with user groups to gather and analyse end user requirements. Produce technical specifications to communicate user requirements in technical terms to analyst programmers and project teams. Coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure the overall efficiency, functionality and user friendliness of system enhancement and development. Preparing material and providing training and assistance to end users following implementation. Working as a crucial component of a project team responsible for enhancing existing systems and/or developing new systems. The successful candidate will contribute to a broad portfolio of initiatives across our people systems landscapes. This includes but not limited to: Workday projects, enhancements and new initiatives focused on expanding capability and optimising existing functionality. Integration uplift and change initiatives, enhancing data flow and reliability across downstream systems. Payroll improvements, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and alignment with compliance requirements. What skills are required for this role? Strong ability to converse with both end-users and IT employees at all levels of the organisation. Sound ability to analyse, isolate and interpret business needs and develop appropriate technical solutions. Strong experience with system integrations, including configuring and testing. Sound technical specification writing and documentation skills. An appreciation for both IT and business strategy. Strong customer service focus. Knowledge of business process re-engineering. We operate within an Agile framework, so experience in Agile delivery environments is highly valuable. For this role it is advantageous to have: A background in HR and payroll operations, with an understanding of end-to-end processes. Experience working with Workday. Exposure to payroll platforms. Experience with system integrations, particularly Workday integrations to downstream applications.
