Mō te Tūranga | About the Role This is an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst to join BNZ and play a key role in our artificial intelligence (AI) journey. You’ll collaborate with various stakeholders across the business to prioritise and design new processes, leveraging AI capabilities. What are some of the day-to-day tasks the person in this role will complete? Build and maintain a backlog of qualified opportunities to identify high value opportunities using AI Capabilities. Lead and document end-to-end processes for prioritised initiatives, while also identifying transformation and optimisation opportunities. Support initiative scoping by articulating how AI, automation, or data capabilities align to business needs and future capabilities to support investment decisioning. Partner with technology, data scientists and business teams to translate business needs into AI-enabled processes. Contribute to the development of delivery roadmaps and future-state process maps, supporting risk and change impact assessments to qualify the impact of proposed changes. Ensure compliance with governance, risk, and ethical AI principles in process redesign and the definition of controls and ongoing monitoring frameworks. Provide guidance on how AI can enhance human processes and transition towards a fully agentic architecture. What attributes will this person display in order to be successful in this role? Alongside proven business analyst or business design experience, you must demonstrate hands-on experience with automation tools and implementing AI programmes/initiatives. This role requires the technical knowledge and capability, but also an adaptable communicator who can translate complex AI concepts to a wide audience in a simple way to understand and support decision making. You will bring: Proven experience taking large-scale AI or automation initiatives from concept through to production and adoption. Experience or strong knowledge working with AI platforms and leveraging AI capability to transform business processes. Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering secure, compliant AI implementations. Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively and ensure alignment across multiple business divisions. Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools for iterative software development and project management. Demonstrated ability to solve problems and deliver in complex, sometimes ambiguous environments. Stays at the forefront of AI innovation, emerging tools and frameworks.
