Senior Business Analyst (Brussels, near-site) - EU Institutions Function: Business Analyst. Location: Brussels, BE (near-site). Start date: ASAP. Duration: long-term mission. Languages: English (C1) and French (+B1). MANDATORY MANDATORY: All the specific expertise specified. Context The IT department request the services of one Business Analyst with very good AI knowledge, to cover the activities described in this Technical Annex. Description of Tasks The external service provider will: · Gather and analyse business requirements, identifying suitable AI, data mining, machine learning, and BI solutions. · Design application mock-ups and user interfaces aligned with business needs and UX best practices. · Analyse large datasets to extract actionable insights and ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with GDPR and AI regulations. · Develop data models, define data rules and controls, and implement anomaly detection systems. · Contribute to the design and implementation of analytics architecture (including performance and scalability aspects). · Perform data processing, cleansing, validation, and advanced data mining. · Support IT architecture design for NLP/ML/AI solutions, including metadata and master data management. · Conduct business and data analysis (process modelling, risk analysis, business cases, functional requirements). · Lead user acceptance testing and ensure alignment with business requirements. · Produce documentation and collaborate with stakeholders across teams. Level of Education · Bachelor’s degree (minimum 3 years). Knowledge and Skills · Strong knowledge of NLP lifecycle, machine learning, and data analytics on large/complex datasets (data lakes, unstructured data). · Proficiency in Python, R, PERL, SQL, NoSQL (e.g. MongoDB, Hadoop). · Experience with data modelling, BPMN/UML, and analysis tools. · Knowledge of software development methodologies (Agile, RUP). · Understanding of scalable data architectures and information systems. · Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills. · Ability to work in multicultural, multilingual environments and across large projects. · Fluent in English (C1) and French (B1+). · High level of integrity, autonomy, and teamwork. Specific expertise Following specific expertise is mandatory for the performance of tasks: • Excellent knowledge of machine learning techniques and algorithms, and Large Language Models. • Knowledge in one of the following areas: predictive (forecasting, recommendation), prescriptive (simulation), sentiment analysis, topic detection, social media crawling and processing, plagiarism detection, trends/anomalies detection in datasets, recommendation systems. • Knowledge of Graph Databases. • Knowledge of application UI/UX design. Location • The services shall be performed remotely in Near-site location allowing to reach the client’s premises in Brussels within 2 hours (by land). Rate: 345€-420€/day. The rate offered depends on the candidate’s level, in accordance with the European Commission’s public grading system. Further details are available upon discussion.
