Our client, a large complex Queensland Government Agency, are currently seeking a Senior Business Analyst with extensive functional HR/Payroll experience.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The department has commenced a project to replace its existing HR/Payroll solution with a proven contemporary HCM solution. An implementation Planning Study was conducted with suitable vendors in the first half of 2024, the project has now moved into process analysis and foundation requirements gathering. Multiple Senior Business Analysts are required to support the future state process design, business and functional requirement management activities, in the areas of Core HR, Payroll, Establishment Management, Talent management, Time & Attendance, Recruitment & Onboarding, needed for the configuration activities for any future implementation.

Responsibilities

KEY TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES:

KEY TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the analysis of business processes and user requirements
  • Collaborate with business representatives and other project team members to help design and document business processes and requirements
  • Analyse and evaluate the existing processes and identify gaps
  • Elicit and analyse current ‘as-is’ processes, understand new requirements and develop ‘to-be’ processes to meet business needs and gauge level of process change
  • Manage requirements including documentation, prioritisation and traceability
  • Produce detailed requirements specifications to support system configuration and design
  • Manage stakeholders

KEY EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE:

  • Highly developed business analysis skills;
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills;
  • Extensive process and data modelling skills;
  • Excellent interviewing, presentation, facilitation and interpersonal skills;
  • Clear understanding of project management and system development methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in the business/IT environment. This includes the following:
  • Gathering information from stakeholders to understand their needs and detailed requirements;
  • Writing HR/Payroll Business and Functional requirements specifications and documenting business rules;
  • Analysing and decomposing business requirement into functional and non-functional requirements;
  • Expertise in business process modelling using Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN)
  • Understanding the limitations of technology in relation to business processes and ability to present alternate options to business stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in stakeholder engagement and management. This includes:
  • Track record in gaining the confidence of business stakeholders and building productive working relationships with key stakeholders and technical teams;
  • Consultation and communication with a diverse group of stakeholders.
