Responsibilities

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our Mariner Innovations team to help in our planned growth, and contract opportunities for our clients in Atlantic Canada. In this role, you will be responsible for client-based projects and, in collaboration with our delivery and sales teams, you will deliver best of breed solutions to new and existing customers.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING IN THE ROLE:

  • Act as a bridge between the business and technical teams to ensure user stories and requirements are well-documented and clearly understood.
  • Gather and relay responses from the business to developers regarding specific user stories and requirements.
  • Plan, facilitate, and participate in workshops to define process flows.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings as needed.
  • Define and maintain clear acceptance criteria.
  • Create, manage, and prioritize the product backlog.
  • Support the team in delivering initiatives that align with user needs and desired outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with privacy, security, and change management procedures.
  • Provide regular communication and reporting on development progress..
  • Develop and manage test plans.
  • Support and/or conduct functional testing, coordinate user acceptance testing, and analyze formal test results.

WHAT SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS YOU’LL NEED TO DO THE JOB:

  • Demonstrated experience in documenting detailed business and technical requirements in an Agile environment, including creating epics, milestones, user stories, and issues using prototyping tools.
  • Expertise in sprint planning and backlog refinement.
  • Experience collaborating with multiple business stakeholders on high-profile initiatives to elicit business needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with business representatives and project teams.
  • Prior experience working on public-sector projects.
  • Proficiency in planning and facilitating workshops using Agile methodologies.
  • Business Analysis certification.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and document business processes while contributing to the definition of future business direction.
