Description
We’re on the hunt for a Senior Business Analyst to join our Mortgages team and play a key role in driving ING’s Originations transformation. Are you ready to make an impact? In this pivotal role, you’ll help define and shape the requirements and solutions that will transform the way we deliver mortgage originations across the business. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a large‑scale transformation program, ensuring that business requirements are fit for purpose, aligned to our strategic vision, and articulated in a way that resonates with both business and technical audiences. Your day‑to‑day will see you leading workshops with stakeholders across the business, technology teams and external vendors to capture, analyse and document complex information. You’ll bring clarity to ambiguity—consolidating large amounts of data into clear, succinct artefacts such as customer journeys, process maps and user stories. These deliverables will guide our delivery squads as they build the APIs, micro‑services and systems that power the future of our mortgage experience. As part of an agile environment, you may also support system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), and participate in ceremonies alongside Product Owners and delivery squads. If you thrive in transformation, enjoy solving complexity, and excel at connecting people, processes and technology, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact at scale. This is a permanent role based in Sydney. What you’ll do Lead business analysis activities by collaborating with business teams and Solution Architects to define future‑state processes and ensure requirements align with business objectives and architectural constraints. Capture, analyse and document requirements through workshops with Product Owners, Customer Journey Experts, Service Designers, vendors and technology teams, producing artefacts such as customer journeys, process maps and user stories. Translate complex information into clear, traceable and development‑ready requirements, ensuring they meet risk, regulatory and strategic design principles. Review and validate proposed technical solutions to ensure alignment with business needs, while identifying feasible alternatives when constraints arise. Provide ongoing business support across project and BAU teams, assisting with system/process queries and contributing to SIT and UAT activities, including defect analysis and workarounds. Work effectively within Agile teams, participating in agile ceremonies and ensuring requirements are well‑defined, prioritised and understood across delivery squads. What we’re looking for Experience working in Agile or hybrid Agile/Waterfall environments, including participation in key agile ceremonies and creation of project artefacts. Strong knowledge of end‑to‑end lending and mortgage processes, particularly within originations and/or servicing is highly regarded. Ability to translate complex business objectives into clear, principles‑aligned requirements, supported by well‑defined process flows, customer journeys and user stories. Skilled in analysing and documenting current and future‑state processes and collaborating with technical teams to shape and validate system and solution designs. Proven capability to manage, prioritise and maintain requirements, while building strong relationships with stakeholders across product, design, delivery, architecture and technology. Excellent communication, problem‑solving and risk‑identification skills, with the confidence to work independently and contribute effectively within cross‑functional teams. What’s in it for you?
