KEY REQUIREMENTS

• 10+ years of experience in business/data analysis in financial services.
• Deep understanding of banking products, structures, and reporting frameworks.
• Proven track record in data mart and data model design (especially using Kimball methodology).
• Experience working in Agile/DevOps environments with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong bus-dev-ops mindset — able to operate across business, functional, and technical layers.
• Skilled in translating business needs into data models and facilitating discussions with sourcing stakeholders.
• Capable of operating at both conceptual and technical levels, from architecture to granular logic.
• Skilled stakeholder manager, aligning perspectives across business and IT.
• Experience working in the Netherlands and understanding local work culture.
• Self-starting, structured, proactive, and confident in pushing back when needed.

ABOUT THE ROLE

ING is looking for a seasoned Senior Business Analyst to join a strategic data initiative. This is a long-term assignment in a DevOps setting, focused on transforming and optimizing data processes for internal reporting, modeling, and steering purposes.
You will play a critical role in aligning business needs with technical solutions, working closely with business leads, model owners, data engineers, and architects. Your experience in banking, data marts, and both conceptual and technical analysis will help drive the delivery of a robust and scalable data infrastructure.
High priority: Immediate and hands-on involvement in data modelling for new data models is critical for success in this role.In addition, next to that they’re looking for someone with bus-dev-ops experience, capable of setting up data models from a business/functional perspective and discussing data requirements with sourcing parties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze and translate complex business requirements into clear technical data solutions.
• Design and implement new data models with urgency and precision, ensuring conceptual and logical clarity.
• Validate and refine data mart structures in line with evolving business and reporting needs.
• Collaborate closely with DevOps teams to ensure end-to-end delivery of data products.
• Conduct in-depth stakeholder management across multiple teams and domains.
• Contribute to strategic decision-making by bridging the gap between data and business.
• Challenge, influence, and support team members with a focus on quality and delivery.
• Coordinate and guide workstreams, taking a light lead or steering role where needed.
• Facilitate functional modelling and engage in sourcing discussions to ensure alignment of data requirements.
