Responsibilities

As the Senior Business Analyst you will assist with the development and management of firm projects. This role will engage with practice areas and business services departments in order to shape and scope projects, and through working closely with the Project Managers and other project team members to deliver working solutions for the firm.

  • Working with the BA Team Lead, Project Managers and the practice areas around the firm to understand business operations, challenges, and their upcoming plans and priorities
  • Developing a good understanding of the firm’s CRM, Referral Processes and to help document and standardise how referrals, new client enquiries are captured, triaged and awarded across the firm
  • Developing a good understanding of the firms core applications, processes and systems
  • Assist in the implementation of business processes, initiatives and monitoring the achievement of perceived and intended business benefits
  • Produce specifications to communicate user requirements in technical terms for the relevant IT teams (Development, Infrastructure and Information Security)
  • Translate technical requirements into business friendly language for stakeholders across the firm
  • Extracting business requirements using interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, business process descriptions, data analysis, task and workflow analysis
  • Inputting to and producing business cases, feasibility studies, gap analysis and cost benefit analysis to support with decision making
  • To drive and challenge practice areas and act as the liaison between the departments and IT Development team for business solution requirements, development and implementation
  • Work with requirements to create test scripts, plans and scenarios
  • Occasionally undertake system testing in line with scripts, plans and scenarios; providing comprehensive documentation of results
  • Co-ordinate user acceptance tests ensuring clients undertake test duties to established standards
  • Assist with overall project management by providing reports and feedback to the Project Manager, ensuring agreed deadlines are met
  • Proactively review and update requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to the proposed solution to ensure traceability of decisions and related changes
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal clients and vendors/suppliers
  • Monitor industry trends, market conditions and competitor activities to provide insights
  • Be aware of and help to ensure the Firm is compliant with its legal obligations, industry regulations, organisational policies and professional codes
