Description:
Payments Settlements (PS) department is looking to recruit a Business Analyst/Senior Analyst who will be part of a team that performs the business analysis activities of major projects that maintain and enhance critical payments systems for Australia, including the Reserve Bank Information and Transfer System (RITS), the Fast Settlement Service (FSS) and SWIFT systems used for interbank payments. You will be a liaison among stakeholders in order to elicit, analyse, communicate and validate requirements for changes relating to the security and resilience of PS systems.

- Develop proposals for new business initiatives and improvements for RITS and other critical systems operated by PS.
- Prepare detailed business requirements and functional specifications for approved proposals.
- Play a key role in project teams managing the development and implementation of approved projects, including liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with the development of project documentation and other project administration activities.
Your background
To be successful in this critical role you will possess:
- Advanced understanding of the business analysis domain and knowledge of tools, methods and communication techniques to extract, develop, validate and document business requirements.
- Experience in the specification and testing arrangements required for mission critical systems.
- Knowledge of payment and settlement system operations in Australia.
- Knowledge of the security and resilience aspects required for the development and operation of critical systems.
- Experience working as business analyst in IT infrastructure/ technology projects will be beneficial
- Proven capacity for analysis, quality written work and excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly in unfamiliar and complex environments.
- Experience in the development of project artefacts such as business cases, project plans, RACI matrices, status reporting, managing project risk and issues, and exposure to procurement processes.
- A professional certification in business analysis and/or project management such as IIBA CBAP/ PRINCE2 would be highly regarded.

The Security and Resilience Analysis (SRA) team is part of PS Business Delivery team, which works closely and collaboratively with stakeholders to successfully deliver projects that support and enhance the Australian payments system. SRA team also is responsible for the planning, management and delivery of security and resilience initiatives in the department including the Swift Customer Security Programme attestation. Safe, secure and reliable settlement systems are integral to the smooth functioning of the Australian economy, and projects relating to these systems are a critical aspect of the RBA’s work
