Responsibilities

THE SENIOR BUSINESS ANALYST ROLE

As we continue our mission to be the market-leading underwriting software platform for agile insurers, we are excited to kick off the search for our first Senior Business Analyst based in the US. This role presents a unique opportunity to join Send’s Client Delivery team, where you’ll apply exceptional analytical and communication skills while working directly with diverse customers, system integration partners, and internal development teams.
Leveraging your extensive knowledge of Specialty Insurance and Delegated Underwriting, you’ll provide valuable subject matter expertise to both clients and delivery partners. Your role will focus on addressing client challenges by maximizing Send’s product capabilities to achieve outstanding results.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING AS A SENIOR BUSINESS ANALYST

  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of Send’s current and developing product suite to deliver expert guidance and consultancy services to clients and system integration partners, ensuring optimal functionality and tailored configurations that precisely meet their requirements.
  • Lead on workshops, business design and requirement gathering sessions with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Create user stories, acceptance criteria and process flows to further clarify scope and support communication of complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Translate business needs into clear and precise functional outcomes identifying gaps through experience and platform subject matter expertise.
  • Analyse current business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct end-of-sprint or ad hoc demonstrations of product features or delivery progress to elicit feedback on developed functionality.
  • Work closely with Functional Leads and Solution Architects to ensure product backlogs are appropriately prioritise.
  • Support testing efforts and validate delivered solutions meet business needs.

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED FOR THE SENIOR BUSINESS ANALYST ROLE

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst with a minimum of 5+ years’ experience in the insurance industry, ideally with exposure to MGAs and underwriting processes. This is a strategic, client-facing role that blends consultancy, analytical thinking, and solution design to support our continued growth and innovation in the insurance technology space.

  • Insurance Industry Expertise: Extensive experience working as a Business Analyst or Solutions focused role within the insurance sector is essential. Familiarity with the MGA landscape and underwriting workflows is highly desirable.
  • Client-Facing Consultancy: Demonstrated ability to work effectively with insurance clients in a consultative capacity, offering clarity and direction in complex or ambiguous environments. Prior consulting experience is a plus.
  • Analytical & Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with a sharp eye for detail and the ability to translate insurance business problems into actionable, data-informed solutions.
  • Requirements Gathering & Communication: Skilled at eliciting, defining, and documenting business and functional requirements in a clear and concise way for technical teams, using tools like JIRA. Able to bridge the gap between business users and developers/testers.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent interpersonal skills - proactive, engaging, and able to listen deeply to client needs while asking the right questions to ensure alignment and understanding.
  • Presentation & Demonstration: Confident in presenting findings and leading demonstrations to client stakeholders and user groups in a succinct and compelling manner.
  • Organisational Capability: Highly organised with strong time management skills, able to manage and prioritise multiple insurance-related projects across stakeholders and delivery teams.
  • Communication & Documentation: Clear communicator with experience producing high-quality business documentation and status updates. Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Team-Oriented with Initiative: Comfortable working independently and as part of a cross-functional team. Brings a collaborative mindset with a hands-on, “roll-up your sleeves” approach to delivery.
