The successful candidate will lead identification and analysis of business driver’s problems, opportunities, or needs to support Watercare’s strategic and operational objectives. Working closely with business users and SMEs, the Senior Business Analyst translates these drivers into actionable insights and clear, traceable requirements. Analysis activities are robust, outcome-focused and aligned with Watercare’s principles and governance processes to enable value and benefit realization. This role also provides leadership in business analysis practices, mentoring others and cultivating strong stakeholder engagement to deliver meaningful outcomes for Watercare. Ngā kawenga matua | Key Responsibilities Lead complex or strategic analysis initiatives, ensuring end-to-end delivery of outcomes and documentation. Identify and analyse business drivers through structured engagement with business users and SMEs. Facilitate workshops to elicit, clarify and prioritise requirements. Translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements and user stories. Develop and validate process diagrams and visual models (BPMN). Collaborate with technical teams and architects to ensure solutions align with business requirements. Participate in design reviews and apply visual modelling techniques. Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. Facilitate regular engagement and feedback loops. Champion Watercare’s approved templates and quality assurance processes. Oversee use of Jira for work tracking and Lucid for advanced process modelling. Lead communities of practice and capability uplift across the Business Analysis team. Drive continuous improvement and change initiatives. Ngā pūkenga e rapu nei mātou | About you Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience. Minimum 10 years of Business Analysis experience, 5 years as a Senior BA. Expertise in process modelling and documentation standards (BPMN, UML). Experience in agile environments and enterprise-level systems. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills. Desirable Industry certifications (IIBA, Agile, Design Thinking). Lean, Six Sigma or process improvement certifications. Experience mentoring other analysts.
