About the role We have an opportunity for a Senior Business Consultant to be part of our Enterprise Recourse Planning, Technology & Communication Services Command team. The Senior Business Consultant will assist business units to improve efficiency of operations, deliver effective customer services and support the achievement of organisational goals through reviewing business streams, systems and processes, making recommendations, and implementing and evaluating business improvement projects. The New South Wales Police Force is undertaking the planning phase of a comprehensive ERP Program, with the SAP Upgrade Project aimed at transitioning to a more sustainable future state. This strategic initiative aims to modernise and optimise the technical foundation of the core ERP environment, ensuring it remains robust, secure, and aligned with evolving technology standards and organisational requirements. The uplift will not only enable the retirement of legacy systems but also drive improved efficiency, resilience, and effectiveness across critical business processes within the NSWPF. The ERP Program is seeking a Senior Business Consultant to support the HCM Payroll and Org Management solution. This role will act as a key link between business and technology, ensuring the solution is fit-for-purpose, effectively supported, and continuously improved. You will provide specialist functional and technical expertise across HCM, working closely with stakeholders to deliver sustainable, high-quality outcomes within a complex enterprise environment. Key Responsibilities Hands on functional expertise in SAP HCM including configuration, testing, and payroll cycles within a complex, high volume payroll environment Develop and implement a support operating model, ensuring effective and sustainable service delivery Build strong stakeholder relationships, providing expert advice and guidance on HCM processes and system capabilities Lead workshops, gather requirements, and translate business needs into system improvements and enhancements Maintain deep subject matter expertise of the HCM solution and drive continuous improvement initiatives About You (Preferred Requirements & Capabilities) Demonstrated experience supporting government or large enterprise HR and Payroll operations, with an understanding of compliance obligations Strong capability in system support, including reporting, integrations, analytics, and complex issue resolution Ability to act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, with a deep understanding of HR processes and system functionality Proven experience developing or contributing to service delivery/support models Strong stakeholder engagement and consulting skills, with the ability to build relationships, manage expectations, and influence outcomes Excellent communication skills, including the ability to facilitate workshops and present to senior stakeholders Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands in a high-volume environment View the relevant role description for more information on this role (e.g. essential requirements, key accountabilities, key challenges and capabilities required for the role) What we can offer you At NSWPF our people have access to a range of benefits that help balance life at work and at home.
