What you’ll do
Do you have a real desire to make a difference in the world and a passion to help us push us forward on our journey to a fossil free future? Bring your passion and enthusiasm to our Finance Team as Senior Business Controller for our Heat UK district heating business.

You will be a valued member of our team and you will be the key go-to person for our Functions and steer the set-up of financial processes and structures.

• Ensure all financial processes are executed smoothly in the regions and subsidiaries e.g. month end reporting, forecast preparation, calculate/analyse KPIs
• Be in charge of fleading reporting, forecasting and Business Planning Processes, set-up the standards and guidelines
• Provide the department heads and project leads with relevant, reliable financial information, business analysis enabling the business to achieve the business targets
• Actively partner with the central departments heads provide financial insights to achieve business targets.
• Be a key driver to improve our Financial tools and structure towards digitalisation and automation; implement new tools
• Be the Key sparring partner for the Year End Audit and regular monthly/quarterly reporting on our legal entities
• Improve and carry out liquidity planning for the legal entities and ensure funding with Vattenfall Group Finance
• Drive the step change towards digitalisation (Dashboarding with PowerBI) and automation
• Participate in improvement projects within the larger Business Area

Your profile

Essential requirements:

• Preference for a Qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
• professional experience in Financial Management, management accounting and reporting
• Strong business driving attitude, solution orientation and constructive challenging attitude
• International exposure, working in a corporate environment desired
• High proficiency in SAP essential
• Excellent Excel skills
• Advanced Power BI skills or general experience with data base visualisation
• Experience in handling different stakeholders and aligning their goals

You bring the following key competencies and strengths:

• Strong team player, with the ability to cooperate on different levels
• Passionate about setting up something new, building new processes and evolving existing processes into new markets to deliver commercial value
• Strong ability to structure, analyze and interpret complex financial and commercial issues, as well as presenting the information in a clear and concise format (also to non-financial people)
• Able to identify process improvements and lead them through to implementation
• Ability to work independently, with a hands-on and pragmatic mind set.
• Excellent communication skills and able to work across international cultures, ability to convene complex financial matters to different audiences

Nonessential but valuable:

• Experience in investment environments such as energy, utilities, transport or infrastructure
• Understanding of the district heating or wider green energy sector is an advantage
• Experiences of having to adapt to various internal and external changes which lead to uncertainty
