Sr. Business Data Analyst, Finance Insights and Technology Engagement (FITE)

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University degree in Computer Science, Math/Statistics, Business, Finance or other relevant field.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and proven capability to drive insights from data and analytics.
  • Proficient in SQL, Python or R - query optimization and syntax knowledge.
  • Experience with and/or exposure to BI Tools such as MicroStrategy, Power BI, Tableau, etc.
  • Experience with and/or exposure to Application Tools such as SAS, Python, R, Excel/Visual Basic, etc.
  • Working experience with Teradata, SAP, Azure, MS SQL Server is an asset.
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to self-organize multiple tasks well and to complete them on time with a clear focus on quantitative and/or qualitative results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to work well in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to “think outside the box”.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a talented and motivated Senior Business Data Analyst to join our FITE team. You will be working with various stakeholders to understand their operations, data structures, and analytical requirements. More so, you will be partnering with them to create and/or recommend strategic initiatives based on data driven analytics. You will also rely on a creative mind and be able to think outside of the box. The ability to communicate and present to various levels within the business and to external partners is of utmost importance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engage with key stakeholders/teams in Finance to ensure their reporting needs are fulfilled.
  • Evaluate new data sources and help define more effective ways to communicate data with our business users.
  • Work with business partners to manage data processes that are accurate, consistent, and efficient.
  • Summarize vast amounts of data to develop reports and models that solve business problems.
  • Build powerful business intelligence visualizations/insights using a variety of tools such as MicroStrategy, Power Platform, Excel, and others.
  • Own project management tasks such as scoping, impact assessments, effort estimates, risk mitigation, activity status updates and issue escalation.
  • Create/maintain comprehensive and accurate data documentation to ensure retention of institutional memory.
  • Conduct code and data design reviews within the team, Loblaw IT team and stakeholders.
